The Good News and Bad News about
Being a Vegetarian

Vegetarians usual eat their daily requirements of fruits and vegetables, but they can become deficient in certain nutrients. They must pay attention to the quality and blend of proteins they eat to ensure they are getting complete proteins. If they are eating some animal protein such as dairy products or eggs, they can get complete proteins. If they are Vegan (no animal products at all) more planning is required. Vegetarian diets can be deficient in vitamin B12, L-carnitine, and CoEnzyme Q10. There are books and nutrition consultants that can help. Supplementation for some nutrients may be needed.
